new dining room!

for 5 years i've had my husband's

grandmother's ethan allen ancient

dining room set.

and it totally served it's purpose.

it was great for family get together's

and party's. the kids did homework and
crafts on it... but, it was UGLY!

it was time for a major change.

i didn't want anything too formal.

i wanted the table to be big and solid.

i didn't want to pay a fortune, and i

wanted to mix the chairs.

here are some before and afters.

office "face lift"...done!

in december we gave our OFFICE a much

needed "face lift".
we did it in record time...it was crazy!! (2 weeks)

i think it turned out really nice and it

was less expensive than doing

a complete remodel.

check it out!

we bought new furniture.

hung a new pic. of the kids.

new carpet and wall paper.

i love the bench.

we added laminate wood flooring.

what do you think?

mantel dilemma

do you have a hard time decorating

your mantel??

i have the hardest time!

do i want one thing, or a couple?

do i want pictures?
should i keep it simple?

do i want a mirror or a plant?

what do i do?!?

here's what i came up with!

the BEST chewy chocolate chip cookies!!

hands down these are the

BEST chocolate chip cookies!
it's all because of one secret

ingredient.....instant vanilla pudding!

this makes the cookies super moist

and chewy.

here are some pictures of my oldest chicken

making his regular sunday chewy chocolate cookie recipes.

1 C butter

3/4 C brown sugar

1/4 C sugar

1 package instant vanilla pudding mix

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla extract

2-1/4 C all purpose flour

1 tsp. baking soda

2 C semisweet choc. chips

1 C chopped nuts (optional)

combine butter, sugars, and pudding.

add eggs one at a time.

beat in vanilla.

set aside.

in separate in bowl combine

flour, baking soda.

add to cream mixture.

mix in choc. chips, and nuts.

cook at 350

for 8-10 minutes.

enjoy!

isn't Valentine's day such a neat holiday?

it's a great way to let our family and

friends know how much we love them.

i love it!

this year our church put on a dance

"a night in paris"

it was really fun and the decorations

were amazing!

(the budgets are always pretty tight)

here are a few pics. from our

the eiffel tower was made out of cardboard and

they hung little lights from fishing wire to simulate a night sky.

amazing,..right?

murrals were painted and hung.

they had a band.
